Museum of Maksim Bogdanovich

At the intersection of 1 Maya Street and Maksima Bogdanovicha Street we see a beautiful wooden mansion connected with one of the most famous figures of Belarusian literature — Maksim Bogdanovich.

Because of family circumstances and his father’s work in a bank, the Bogdanovich family moved here from Minsk.

Bogdanovich spent part of his childhood in this house. Sadly, his mother died here from tuberculosis, and the family soon left Grodno.

Bogdanovich himself later died young from the same illness.

In the 1990s, thanks to the initiative of Anna Akhmatova, a Maksim Bogdanovich House-Museum was established here.

The museum also includes an exhibition dedicated to the famous Belarusian writer Vasil Bykau, who lived in Grodno for almost thirty years.

Nearby you can also visit Zhiliber Park, one of the most beautiful historic parks in the city.
