We continue along Severnaya Street, which began to develop as early as the 18th century.

One interesting feature of this street is that it once housed military barracks. An important transformation took place after the great fire of 1885, when city authorities required that buildings in the central districts be constructed only from stone.

The building we see now was constructed after that fire.

You should also pay attention to several wooden houses nearby built in the style of Russian Art Nouveau. Such buildings are quite rare in Grodno.

One notable example is the mansion at Volkovich Street, 5, a striking representative of this architectural style.
